About
Once upon a time, there was a sophomore at the University of Rochester by name of Emily Chan. She was Inspired by Sarah J. Maas and her A Court of Thorns and Roses series and has always had an appreciation for this fairy tale. However, she's never studied it in an exploration of what it means to be Beauty or Beast.

While these questions may never be fully answered, by looking at the past and present versions in popularity, we can see what's changed and what's stayed consistent since Ancient Greece in our perception of the characters and stories overall.
This project is supported by the University of Rochester Robbins Library.

Located on the fourth floor of Rush Rhees, the Robbins Library and Koller-Collins Center serves undergraduates and graduate students alike. Specializing in medieval manuscripts, classics, and any book that has great literary impact, the Library serves as a resource to all who need it. Books are therefore non-circulating so that they may always be available.

The library is directed by Dr. Anna Siebach-Larsen.
